What a Typical Day Looks Like on a Detox Retreat

A day on the herbal detox retreat is designed to gently guide your body through a structured cleansing process, while also giving you the space to rest, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

A Gentle Start to the Day

The day usually begins around 7:00–8:00am with a cup of warm water to awaken the system. If you feel called, we may begin with a short session of meditation, qigong, yoga, or light movement to support both physical and mental balance.

A Structured Detox Rhythm

The day follows a carefully timed rhythm, typically lasting around 11–12 hours. This rhythm is centred around nutrient-rich juices and supportive supplements:

  • Morning juice (around 9:00am): A fruit-based juice combined with psyllium husks and bentonite clay to help bind and eliminate toxins.

  • Midday and afternoon juices: Taken at roughly 3.5-hour intervals, providing a steady flow of nutrients and supporting the body’s detoxification processes.

  • Evening broth: A nourishing vegetable broth to gently close the day.

The juices are rich in vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds, providing deep nourishment while your digestive system rests.

Targeted Supplement Support

Throughout the day, you’ll take carefully selected supplements designed to support your liver, kidneys, and digestive system in releasing toxins. These are tailored to your individual needs and adjusted as your body responds.

Supporting Elimination & Comfort

An important part of the process is ensuring that toxins are effectively eliminated from the body:

  • Enemas (typically twice daily): Often using coffee, these support the colon in clearing toxins and help prevent reabsorption.

  • This can significantly ease the detox process, reducing symptoms such as headaches and helping you feel more comfortable.

Rest, Space, and Inner Reset

Between these structured elements, there is intentional space in your day. This is not “empty time,” but an essential part of the retreat:

  • Time to rest, reflect, and slow down

  • Opportunity to step away from work, responsibilities, and digital distractions

  • A chance to reconnect with yourself and restore balance

Where possible, you’re encouraged to minimise phone use and step back from social media to fully benefit from the retreat experience.

Additional Supportive Practices

On certain days, additional therapies may be included:

  • Liver packs: A warm compress applied for around 30 minutes to support liver function and promote deep relaxation

  • Parasite cleansing protocols (if appropriate)

  • Guided health and lifestyle support: Conversations to help you build sustainable habits beyond the retreat

Personalised Guidance Throughout

As well as the physical detox, this is a time for learning and transformation. Drawing on decades of experience in health, coaching, and wellbeing, I provide ongoing support to help you:

  • Understand your body and its needs

  • Improve your nutrition and lifestyle habits

  • Make meaningful, lasting changes

If the retreat takes place in your home, we can also look practically at your environment — including your kitchen and food choices — to support your transition into a healthier way of living.

A Retreat in the Truest Sense

Above all, this experience is about stepping out of your usual routine and giving yourself the space to reset — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

By following the structure of the day and fully engaging with the process, you give your body the best possible conditions to detoxify efficiently and comfortably, while also creating space for deeper personal renewal.
